Edge-to-edge quilting over applique

Just thought I'd put this photo up of a quilt that went through this week.  Sometimes I'm asked to do stitch-in-the-ditch with applique quilts.  Now, there are times when the quilt warrants that investment, but there also times when it doesn't.  That's because stitch-in-the-ditch is actually custom quilting which is more labour-intensive than edge-to-edge or all-over quilting.  This photo shows a meander pattern "Happy Times" being used on a quilt with some applique.  It shows that e2e quilting over applique in this instance is appropriate - and more affordable for the customer!

Very beautifully done, I always feel like this all over quilting would ruin a quilt like that...but you have done a great job, it has given it a lovely texture.
