What a site quilt at our exhibition next month.

"The salty sea, an ancient land, Port Arthur, Salamanca, The wharves, Tall ships and rigging, gateway to the Antarctic, the museums and art galleries, Hobart at the epicentre - what a site".

This is Kat's artists statement for her "What a Site" quilt for the inaugural Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery Art Quilt Prize.  The quilt won Viewer's Choice. It is a wall hanging 160 x 165 cm and features a range of techniques such as discharge dyeing and free motion quilting, and is based on a Google earth image of the museum site.

The quilt will be on display during Carnival of Flowers week as part of the Quilts, Stitches and Textiles Trail.  More information on our home page at www.koolkatquilting.com
