Last month Geoff from KoolKat Quilting went to Kuching, capital of Sarawak in Borneo and renowned as the city of cats. While it seemed to Geoff that there were more cat statues than live cats on the street, Kuching has certainly traded on its supposed reputation as the city of cats with cat monuments at several locations. In what has to be a world first, there is a cat museum located in a city council chambers - the Kuching North City Hall. Yet taxi drivers and almost anyone else in Sarawak, are quick to point out that there are several possible sources for the name Kuching. For KoolKat and cat fans generally, here are some photos.
