Here's a sneak peek at Kathy's latest quilt "A Year in My Garden" . Some three years in the making, the quilt records the changes each month in our garden where we live in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. We have a 2 acre, or just under 8000 square metre block on the escarpment mid-way between Toowoomba City and Highfields. Originally heavily timbered rainforest, the area was cleared for timber and dairying, but is now residential with pockets of conservation area nearby. The quilt also records the visitors to our garden such as a wonderful array of parrots, as well as visitors for whom we have a healthy respect like the Eastern Brown snake. The quilt will have its first display at the annual Toowoomba Quilters Inc. exhibition at the Salo Centre, St Ursula's College, Rome Street, Toowoomba during Carnival of Flowers week 22-8 September. As in past years, KoolKat will have a stall, so hope to you there if possible.
