One step at a time

Step 1
Last weekend we decided to start building steps to connect the bottom of the block to the house area.  We are using Koppers roundbacks 170mm high, a sliding 3-side drawer approach, mounted on each other but recessed as we cut our way into the slope.  This is the bit that hurts, along with filling the tread with crusher dust.  The steps are pinned into the ground and the step beneath by steel rods, and the front corners secured internally with right angle brackets.

What makes it all worthwhile are the flowers from the native and exotic shrubs on our 2 acre property. We'll need to build 12-5 steps to complete the project.
